8:30 am                        “2020 Ryder Cup” – Chris Zugel, CGCS Director of Maintenance - Kohler Courses

Whistling Straits, host to 3 PGA Championships (2004, 2010, 2015) and 1 USGA Senior Open (2007) will host Wisconsin’s first ever Ryder Cup.  Come learn about the planning and preparation involved in hosting an event of this magnitude. 

9:15 am            “New UW Turfgrass Short Course”Dr. Paul Koch, Asst. Prof. of Plant Path. -  UW Madison

The University of Wisconsin offers a new turfgrass short course degree program to meet the needs of aspiring turf professionals.  Come learn about this exciting new offering and the impact it can have on our industry.

10:15 am           “Who is DATCP, What does it do for Golf Courses” – Arthur Fonk, Environmental Specialist – WI Dept. of Trade and Consumer Protection

You recognize the acronym but what does DATCP really enforce in golf course maintenance? Art Fonk’s presentation will educate the audience on DATCP’s role in golf course maintenance and offer tips on how to comply when you apply.

12:30 pm           “Playability in Golf Design and Maintenance”Matt Dusenberry, - Principal Dusenberry Design

                        Golf course architecture and golf course maintenance collide.  Matt Dusenberry will outline the role golf architects and superintendents share in maximizing the potential and player experience of a golf course property.
